FAQ

Questions about your new website

What it costs, how long it takes, what you own, and how customers find you.

How long does it take to build a website?
We build your free preview in 48 hours, on every plan, with no obligation. Once you sign on, you get your included revision rounds (1 on Starter, 2 on Professional, 3 on Premium), then a final review together. Most builds are live in about two weeks on Starter, three on Professional and four on Premium. The difference is mostly your revision rounds, and how quickly you send feedback. Trades with advertising rules to check, like accounting and legal, usually add a few days for that review.
How much does a website cost?
A new website costs $1,497, $3,297 or $5,497, depending on how many pages and extras you need. Every plan includes 6 months of Site Care free, then $89 a month. There is no hidden hosting fee.
Is the free preview really free?
Yes. We build a preview of your own site within 48 hours, and you pay nothing unless you decide to go ahead. We don't ask for a credit card, and there is no obligation once you've seen it.
Do I need to know anything about building websites?
No. We do the design, the writing, the setup and keeping it online. You check the content, approve it, and we launch it.
Can I update my website myself?
For simple changes like hours or phone number, just email us and we handle it as part of your Site Care Plan. Prefer full control? We can hand off your source files any time.
What if I want changes after launch?
Small fixes are covered. Your Site Care Plan includes 1 support request a month, up to 30 minutes. Bigger changes don't need a monthly plan: you pay for each one when you need it. A new page is $497, and other changes are $147 an hour, quoted before we start.
Who owns my domain name?
You do, always. If you already have a domain, we point it at your new site. If you don't, we register one for you during onboarding, in your name, not ours. As part of Site Care we watch your renewal date, look after the domain's settings and keep the security certificate current. The yearly fee is billed to you. If you ever cancel, the domain stays yours.
Will my site show up on Google and in AI assistants like ChatGPT?
Every site is set up so Google, Bing and AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Grok can read your business details. That includes your services and the towns you serve. Our Professional and Premium plans add your Google Business Profile, so you can show up on Google Maps. They also add an FAQ page those tools can pick up. No one can promise what a search engine or AI assistant will show, so we promise the work, not a ranking.
What are AEO and GEO, and do I need them?
AEO (answer engine optimization) and GEO (generative engine optimization) both mean making a business easy for AI assistants to read and quote. Think ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. Every site we build includes this at no extra cost. If you want to know what those tools say about you today, our AI Search Check is a one-time $247 add-on.
Why does being found in AI answers matter?
It matters because more of your customers now ask an AI assistant who to call. In early 2026, BrightLocal found that 45% of consumers use ChatGPT or another AI tool for local business recommendations. Those answers usually name only 2 to 4 businesses, and they lean on business websites for their facts. A site that states your services and service area clearly gives them something to work from. Is my website ADA compliant?
We can't promise that, and we never will. We build every site with common practices from the WCAG accessibility guidelines. That means clear page structure, image descriptions, labeled form fields, keyboard navigation and readable color contrast. We also run automated accessibility checks before launch. We don't certify or guarantee that any site meets the ADA, WCAG or any other accessibility law or standard. Automated checks find only some problems, and content or tools added after launch can change things. If your business needs a formal accessibility audit, tell us before you accept your preview. An audit isn't included in any plan.
What happens if my site goes down?
We monitor your site around the clock. If it goes down, we get an alert and start fixing it. Your site runs on a major hosting network, but no one can promise it will never go offline.
Do I have to pay a monthly fee?
Not at first. Every build includes 6 months of Site Care free from day one, on every plan. It keeps your site online and secure, and watches your domain's renewal date. After that, Site Care is $89 a month, or $890 a year. Your domain's own yearly fee, typically $10 to $20, is a separate bill that goes straight to the company you registered it with. To end Site Care, give us 30 days' notice. We hand over all your files within 5 business days, and you keep the site and the domain.
