Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

GoVisible Web ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, when you visit our website or use our website design and Site Care services.

Geographic scope. We offer our Services only to businesses located in the United States, and this Privacy Policy is designed for compliance with applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or offer Services to, individuals or businesses located outside the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please do not submit personal information to us through our Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name, business name, city/location, email address, and phone number submitted through our preview request form or contact forms
  • Business details you share with us for your website build (services offered, photos, licensing/credential information, service areas, etc.)
  • Payment information, processed securely through our payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers on our servers
  • Communications you send us via email, form, or phone

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic analytics about how visitors use our website (pages viewed, general location, device/browser type)
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy for details

Information we do not collect:

This policy covers information about our clients and prospects — the businesses who hire us. It does not cover the customers, patients, or clients of the businesses whose websites we build, because we do not collect their information.

Where a website we build offers booking, client login, document exchange, financing, or payment, those run on a third-party platform the business contracts with directly. Submissions travel from the visitor's browser to that provider without passing through our systems, and we have no access to them. We do not create, receive, maintain, or transmit Protected Health Information, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, payment card data, or client case files on any business's behalf. See section 7 of our Terms of Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To build and deliver your website preview and completed site
  • To communicate with you about your project, billing, and Site Care Plan
  • To process payments for one-time builds, Site Care Plan renewals, and retainers
  • To send you service-related emails (preview notifications, billing receipts, support responses)
  • To follow up about relevant GoVisible services — for example, if your free Site Report Card found a real problem, or if you're an existing client who might benefit from a plan you're not currently on. Every such email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and clicking it stops all marketing email from us, not just that one campaign.
  • To improve our website and services
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party providers to operate our business, who may process your information on our behalf under their own privacy and security practices:

  • Database/hosting infrastructure — to store project and account records
  • Email delivery services — to send preview notifications, receipts, and support communications
  • Payment processing (Stripe) — to securely process one-time and recurring payments
  • Domain registrars — where we're given access to manage your domain's technical settings (DNS, SSL) and monitor its renewal; your account and its billing stay your own
  • Scheduling tools — if your site includes a booking/calendar integration

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us — except your domain registrar, where the account and its billing relationship are yours directly, not ours.

4. Data Retention

We retain project and account information for as long as you remain an active client, and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, legal, and support purposes. If you cancel the Site Care Plan or a retainer, we deliver your site files and account access within 5 business days as described in our Terms of Service, and will delete personal data we no longer need to retain within a reasonable period thereafter, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access and correction: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual retention requirements.
  • Marketing emails: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email footer. Service-related emails (billing, support) are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
  • Do Not Call / CAN-SPAM: Our outreach emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, including a physical mailing address and unsubscribe link in every marketing email.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
